Music has brought so much joy into my life. It was always so much fun to sit with my friends as I played the piano and they enjoyed listening. Great friendships have been built in my life around music. Not only that, but the discipline of learning an instrument has not only refined my musical talent, but it's also increased my capacity in other areas as well. There are scientific studies that show that areas of the brain in musicians that are responsible for motor control, auditory processing, and spatial coordination are larger and more symmetrical. As I moved into teaching music it was so encouraging to see people learn how to play because I knew their lives would be enhanced in so many ways - just like mine was.

Also, playing music live in front of audiences developed my self-confidence, giving me courage and a love for bringing enjoyment to others through the art of music.
